Nike Fear of God 1

The hype continues. I’m convinced at this point that Jerry Lorenzo doesn’t sleep. I dare you to convince me otherwise. Each month we’re surprised with a new collaborations or creative flex on IG from the streetwear powerhouse.

When the Air Fear of God 1 in 2018, it took the sneaker industry by storm. Everyone wanted a pair but nearly everyone caught an L. That single release launched FOG into God territory and made it the most attractive streetwear brand of the modern era. It has been a while since we saw the last global release for this silhouette and I never thought we’d see another color option… until now.

Seems like black is having a moment. From the new Yeezy 700 to the Jordan DMP and the confusing hype around all black AF1’s; black sneakers might be the wave for the summer.

There’s no denying that I’m an avid fan of black (it’s all I wear these days) and I’m in love with these shoes. Although the bone/stone version with a leather upper will ALWAYS be my favortite, there is something about the all black that is clean and versatile. With this shoe having such a dominant on foot presence on foot, the black option makes this much easier to wear in the fall (the lighter color options of this sneaker are much more prone to showing off dirt and scuff marks that are really prominent when the weather shifts).

My vote, shoot your shot. It might be a half court shot but you might as well test your luck. The price on these bad boys isn’t moving with a current asking price of $350. They’re still expensive even in the middle of a pandemic but trust and believe the after market price will be double this. Global release is set for April 25.
