Sneaker drops are taking on a different approach these days. This week, StockX introduced IPO (initial product offering) to its repertoire.

No, the company isn’t going public (which is what I initially thought when I saw IPO). It’s the sneaker distributors new release method that empowers each buyer the opportunity to set their own retail price, and provides everyone with an equal chance to secure product without bots, breakdowns, or plugs.

In theory, it’s a pretty neat approach. Blind bidding on products that you already want purchase without the interference of bots. However, there are some issues with this new approach. For one, you can’t see how many bids are ahead of you (which is quite annoying). Second, something tells me that these bid prices are going to get a bit ridiculous.

Nevertheless, I’m all for a new way of doing things (especially nowadays). Getting L’s on the SNKRS app have been really annoying so hopefully HOPEFULLY this is a way to curb that disappointment.

The first drop from the StockX IPO is a banger. the New Balance 650 x No Vacancy Inn is clean. Super clean. Super versatile, and a drop that I pray I’m lucky to win.

Let me know what you think about the new StockX IPO and the No Vacancy Inn collab!
