Some would say that the hype around Yeezy shoes has faded after the brand flooded the market with a number of 350 v2 colorways. Well, think again. While the 350 v2 is on its way to becoming an iconic silhouette (similar to how the AJ1 changed the game), the next wave of Yeezy’s are ready to take the stage.

There’s no denying that the brand makes shoes with a statement. Its latest statement piece is the 700 v2. Debuting in the winter in a clean “Azael” color way (neutral tones with hints of black and sky blue featuring a glow in the dark cage around the upper), the second edit takes on a more subtle approach.

I’ve never been a big fan of a full black sneaker (I love my color and want things to pop). But, after seeing this… I fell in love. So much in love that I was fortunate enough to cop a pair a day before the release via a raffle (thanks Sneakersnstuff). The shoe is super lightweight, features a variety of textures throughout the upper and it also features the glow in the dark cage which is by far the main attraction. Yes, they glow. It might sound cheesy or gimmicky but it works. Trust me when I say that you’ll see more shoes in the future featuring that technology as many see Yeezy as an innovation hub. Watch and see.
