Ambush x Nike Dunk

Air Jordan 1 “Dark Mocha”

Air Jordan 1 “Dark Mocha”

Featuring an elongated swoosh and heel details to emphasize her vision of being frozen in motion, Yoon Anh of Ambush stamps her edit of the silhouette of the year in her upcoming Nike Dunk collab.

The resurgence of the Nike Dunk is undebatable. The once polarizing shoe (you either preferred AF1’s or Jordan 1’s) has released both high and low edits that has forced many to have a change of heart. In all honesty, it’s almost fitting that Ambush gets the nod to release this edit of the silhouette as one of the final nods to the Year of the Dunk.

Ambush is no stranger to collaborations (especially in the Nike space). Yoon’s take on sneaker collaborations is exploratory yet functional. Ambush always looks to embed a layer of futuristic detailing coupled with an idiosyncratic approach for unisex consumption. You know when you see an Ambush sneaker, and that’s by design (pun intended).

Although it’s only releasing in the featured monochromatic tone, an all pink edit was previewed earlier this year at the Nike Future Sport Forum alongside the recently released Off White Rubber Dunk. Some are speculating that future color ways will be releasing next year. While I think the all pink edit adds to the futuristic narrative, I believe this color option is the cleanest and provides a premium / elevated look.

Global release is set for Friday, December 11 via SNKRS and various retailers with a retail price of $180.
